Bachelor of Mathematics (B.Math.)
Welcome to the Bachelor of Mathematics degree program! We are excited to have you join us.
All first-year B.Math. students will be invited to attend a Degree Program Event in early September. We look forward to meeting you then.
You will only be selecting courses for the Fall 2024 semester (Semester 1) at this time. As a B. Math. student, you will normally select five courses (2.5 credits) for your first semester. You will require:
- CIS*1300 Programming
- ENGL*1030 Effective Writing
- MATH*1200 Calculus I
- STAT*1200 Probability and Chance.
- Elective (first year course of your choice)
The process for creating your schedule for Semester 1 (Fall 2024) is outlined below.
Advising Notes:
- It is important that you select your courses using WebAdvisor as soon as possible. Sections fill up quickly. Detailed instructions are available in the WebAdvisor Tutorial.
- Course Selection tip- Select courses that have fewer sections first and build the rest of your schedule around those times.
- Check your class schedule to ensure that there are no conflicts, and the course registrations have taken place successfully.
- Some electives are required courses for certain programs/majors and may be restricted. If space allows, restrictions on these courses may be removed near the end of the course selection period, allowing all students the opportunity to register. You should select an alternate elective but keep checking WebAdvisor to see if space in your preferred elective becomes available.
- Distance Education (DE01) courses have no scheduled class time as these courses are online.
- If you are a transfer student with transfer credits, contact Bonnie Lasby to schedule an appointment remote appointments are available during regular office hours).
