Urban Microclimate Sampling

Researchers from the Atmospheric Innovations Research (AIR) Laboratory, Environmental Engineering at UofG conduct microclimate sampling on campus to understand impacts of urban development on climate change. The photo shows the Tethered And Navigated Air Blimp (TANAB) flying for air sampling as well as towers with fixed anemometers to measure air properties such as wind speed, wind direction, temperature, relative humidity, and pressure. The TANAB system also performs earth surface thermal imaging.
