Bibliothèque nationale de France, salle Labrouste, manuscript desk

During my research leave, I consulted archival documents held at the "Institut de l'Histoire de l'Art" (INHA) in Paris, France. The reading room this collection is located in was recently restored and reopened in the Fall of 2022. This was the view from the desk I was working at on April 12, 2023. The documents I was reading were letters written by Judith Cladel (1873-1958), an author, journalist and founder of the Rodin Museum in Paris. I am preparing a biography of Cladel, a key actor in many important artistic networks in the early 20th century.
