A heifer Holstein calf being weighed for the final time after weaning with a mobile calf weighing scale by graduate students Lydia Conrad and Michele Brower. This calf was followed since birth during the summer of 2024, for a study aiming to identify physiological thresholds for heat stress in Ontario dairy calves. This research also aims to propose sustainable management strategies to help producers alleviate heat stress.
