Just like humans, South American fur seals (Arctocephalus australis) also don't like it when a stranger gets into their personal space. Research conducted at Guafo Island, Chile, focuses on multiple aspects of these amazing animals, from their ecology to their immunology. My work in particular looks at fur seal milk proteins and assessing them as a predictor for pup survival.
