Welcome to the G.A.W. Lab, where the dreams of Arctic enthusiasts become reality for undergraduate co-op students at the University of Guelph. This lab is at the forefront of international climate research and trains students in the collection and analysis of data on various atmospheric constituents, including greenhouse gases, organic pollutants, microplastics, aerosols, etc.
Located in Alert, Nunavut— the northernmost inhabited place on Earth—students have the unique opportunity to observe polar bears, experience -60°C temperatures, and live for months in 24-hour darkness.
