This photo features China Supay (the she-devil) and Lucifer, key figures in "La Diablada," a traditional dance from Bolivia's Oruro Festival.
The image is part of the Canadian Hispanic Latin American Virtual Museum's (CHLAVM) Special Exhibit "Heritage Costumes: Keeping Identity Alive in Canada," funded by Canada’s Museum Assistance Program - Digital Access to Heritage. This exhibit celebrates and exalts Bolivian culture in Canada.
As a board member and part of the CHLAVM team, I’m involved in researching Hispanic-Latin American diasporas in Canada. This community-led initiative aims to preserve and promote Bolivian culture here.
