Pictured is the Kluane Poppy (Papaver radicatum ssp. kluanense) overlooking Kluane Lake. Taken as part of a study in southwestern Yukon territory investigating the phenology of arctic-alpine plant species in the Canadian North. The research being led by Colin Bonner (PhD student - IB) is looking to understand how the seasonality of arctic and alpine species might be impacted by climate change. Researchers surveyed the plant communities along 4 km transect to reach the summit of Outpost Plateau and view the beautiful Kluane Lake in the distance.
