I have been working with Dr. Oblak to develop a silicone model that will allow veterinary students to practice their incisional and excisional biopsy skills. You can see the tissue layers and masses that are replicated using different densities of silicone. Our goal is to validate a model that will reduce the use of live animals and cadavers, and that could be replicated by other veterinary teaching institutions.
