The need to produce a continuous 12 month supply of high quality potatoes is an ongoing challenge to Canadian potato growers. Producers require varieties which generate profitable yields under sustainable production systems. This creates a demand for new, value added varieties. In 2024, over 65 advanced selections and new varieties from the AAFC National Potato Breeding program and other breeding programs were evaluated in replcated trials at the Elora Research Staion.  Results from the trials are reported to the industry.
