These crystals are formed inside the titanium sapphire flow sapphire under caustic hydrothermal conditions. Sapphire material is itched from the sapphire window material and precipitated as crystals. Titanium sapphire flow cell is developed and used to study chemical systems at hydrothermal conditions at hydrothermal chemistry group at university of Guelph.
