University of Guelph has been recognized for the 2019 Canada's Healthy Workplace Month® Great Employer award.
The University is being celebrated for our planning and actions to help foster a physically and psychologically safe and healthy workplace, striving to continually improve across the key areas of our healthy workplace model including:
Throughout the month of April, employees were invited to dedicate time each day to spring clean. Small tasks were assigned each day, such as decluttering the nightstand, deleting old apps, or donating old board games. Each day, employees checked off the tasks they completed.
Two people were randomly selected and awarded with a small prize to congratulate them on their spring cleaning!
In April, we invited employees to go for a "walk in the park" to explore the unique and interesting sculptures at the Art Gallery of Guelph.
Three winners were randomly selected from the submissions received. Congrats to the following winners:

As a new Healthy Workplace Month activity, employees were encouraged to festively decorate their work space or common office area with colleagues and submit photos using the hashtag #wellnessatUofG or email to wellnessatwork@uoguelph.ca.
11 groups used their creativity to decorate their work spaces and U of G looked spooky!

We had 39 employees submit their completed crossword and a review committee randomly selected the top 3 winners. Congratulations to the following prize winners:

Here is the feedback we received from the cross-word activity:
During October's Healthy Workplace Month, we asked employees to submit a photo of a beautiful U of G space. We asked, "What’s your favourite space on campus? Take a photo of the place that you love best on Guelph campus, at Ridgetown, the University of Guelph-Humber or at a research station – anywhere U of G is! – and tell us why you like it so much."
We received 21 photo entries and it was a difficult decision for the review committee. The following photos were selected as the winning photos:
