March Meatless Mondays Challenge

March is Nutrition Month.

Throughout the month of March, Wellness@Work is challenging faculty and staff to make your Monday meals meatless.

Keep track of your meals using the worksheet attached.

Submit it by April 3, 2020 for your chance to win a prize (including a cookbook made by the Child Care Learning Centre).

Promoting Psychological Health While Going Through Change

The Many Faces of Anxiety

"Anxiety, regardless of a person’s psychological or biological makeup, is highly common. Although it can be triggered by a specific event, such as a trauma or stressful situation, anxiety can also present as a consistent theme in a person’s life, creating challenges in daily activities or interactions."

Spreading Holiday Cheer through Music in OpenEd

The OpenEd Ukulele Club is excited to share their performance from the 2019 Open Ed Holiday Party. Playing holiday favourites like: Frosty the Snowman, I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, and Feliz Navidad, the club spread their holiday spirit to everyone present.

The OpenEd Ukulele group was formed as a wellness initiative by Shara Inotay and Robert Cutting in Feb 2019 after belonging to a similar lunchtime group in OVC run by their music teacher, Cynthia Kinnunen http://www.CynthiaKMusic.com.

ON TOUR at Zavitz Hall

Wellness@Work partnered with the School of Fine Art and Music to provide a behind-the-scenes tour of Zavitz Hall to faculty and staff.

Charles A. Zavitz (1863-1942) was an accomplished researcher and during his years with the Ontario Agricultural College he implemented innovative selective breeding techniques, small experimental plots and meticulous measurements and testing. Zavitz Hall, built in 1914 for Field Husbandry, is now home to the School of Fine Art and Music.
