Classical and Modern Cultures Requirements

Degree Requirements Overview 

To graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Classical and Modern Cultures, students must complete 8.00 credits, including: 

  1. Core Courses: 3.5 credits 

  1. Area of Emphasis: 3.0 credits (Choose one of three areas) 

  1. Restricted Electives: 1.5 credits (Selected from a curated list)

Classical Studies 

Classical Studies explores the ancient world, combining traditional subjects with modern topics like gender and sexuality. Students will study classical languages, literature, history, and art, gaining a deeper understanding of ancient societies while building critical thinking skills. This emphasis explores how classical antiquity has influenced modern literature, art, and politics, preparing students for diverse career paths or further studies in graduate programs.
