U of G Physics Students Win Awards at CAP Congress 2024

At the Annual Canadian Association of Physicists Congress 2024, held from March 27th to March 31st at Western University, five University of Guelph Physics students distinguished themselves and won notable awards amidst 585 registered delegates. 

Engineering Students Win 2023 MetSoc Photo Contest

Two engineering students at the University of Guelph have won top prizes for a photo contest hosted by the Metallurgy and Materials Society (MetSoc) of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). M.A.Sc. mechanical engineering student Sevda Fathipour won first place, while fourth year mechanical engineering student Gautam Naresh Genani won third place for the 2023 MetSoc Student Multi-Scale Image Contest.

CEPS Student Awards

Each year, the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) celebrates the outstanding achievements of our students with an Awards Night that features a reception and an opportunity to recognize philanthropic contributions from friends of CEPS and the University of Guelph. Their generous contributions advance CEPS priorities and help provide pathways for accessible education through scholarships.

CEPS Student Research Day

This week CEPS was proud to hold Student Research Day for undergraduate and graduate students to compete in a poster presentation. The event was well attended with students from every department competing, and the University of Guelph's Chancellor Mary Anne Chambers and the Interim Vice President of Research on hand to view the innovative research of the next generation of scientists. After welcoming remarks from Interim Dean Richard Zytner two students gave presentations on active research projects in Chemistry and Engineering.
