We often hear people say “take care of yourself.” What does this really mean? This one-hour session will increase participants’ awareness and understanding of self-care and highlight the factors that can promote and preserve their health and well-being – now and always. Participants will gain practical tools and resources to activate their own personal self-care practice.

Steps to Supporting a Colleague in Distress
"Steps to Supporting a Colleague in Distress" is a guide for staff and faculty to equip themselves with the skills to be able to recognize signs of distress, respond, and refer to appropriate resources. This training is intended to accompany the guide to support staff and faculty in gaining confidence and equipping themselves with the skills necessary to support their colleagues who are experiencing distress.
Understanding Anxiety and Depression
Mental health problems are an increasing concern in workplaces. Participants will gain an understanding of two of the most common mental health concerns, anxiety and depression. This session will provide strategies for regulating one’s emotions and tips for supporting others who may be experiencing difficulties.

This session will start with a brief overview of what is available to staff and faculty to support their physical activity, followed by a Q&A to answer any questions you might have about Athletics & Recreation's offerings, memberships, facilities, and more.
Pickleball Ready: Prevent Injuries & Elevate Your Game
Join Alyse (Aly) Hodgins, Physiotherapy Lead at the HPC and learn about common pickleball injuries and PRE and POST game essentials to ensure your body is warmed up properly to avoid injury and elevate your game. Come ready to ask questions and have some fun.

Planting Into Rest: Fall Planting with Bulbs
As the fall semester nears its end and the growing season slows, this hands-on wellness workshop invites participants to connect with the rhythms of nature through the simple, grounding act of bulb planting. Facilitated by Guinevere Kern, Registered Horticultural Therapist, the session offers participants the choice to plant either garlic (for harvest next summer) or spring-flowering bulbs (for a future bloom), serving as a metaphor for tending to our own cycles of work, rest, and renewal.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Overview
This 3 week program will be held on October 29, November 5 and November 12 from 12 pm - 1 pm.
This program will focus on the core elements of stress and stress reactivity during stressful times and events. The session will explore how to shift from stress reactivity to stress response at work and life. This session will provide strategies and practical tools to support in stress reduction and improve overall well-being and resilience.
