Testing the Hypothesis of Food Addiction: Research Talk

According to the World Health Organization, unhealthy diet is one key contributor to the development of noncommunicable diseases. The global response to this problem has primarily involved the implementation of nutritional policies intended on raising public awareness, and providing information through nutritional guidelines and product labels. However, there is experimental evidence suggesting that certain foods may promote addictive processes and consequent unhealthy dietary choices.

Beyond the Books: Mental Health Training

Beyond the Books is a face to face session that will first provide participants with general information on the prevalence of mental challenges and illness. It will then help participants to identify signs of troubling behaviour and give them skills to engage in a preliminary discussion to determine if referral to a professional is necessary.

The Wellness@Work Grant Program encourages faculty and staff across all campuses and research stations at the University of Guelph to help promote wellness in their workplace through the implementation of a tailored health‐promoting program, approach or idea in their workplace. Cinq à Sept Social at Brass Taps

Starting in February, Brass Taps has launched a new staff and faculty Friday social each week called Cinq à Sept.  Every Friday, from 4-8pm employees can go to Brass Taps to socialize and connect.  Free appetizers will be provided by Brass Taps and drink specials will be available.  Bring your colleagues and stop by!   On the last Friday of each month, there will be something fun programmed, in addition to the regular social time.
