Recess League

Do you miss the good old days on the playground? We have the solution for you, Recess League runs weekly with a random sport picked each time inspired by school yard games. Recess League is a great way to have a mental wellness break in the middle of the work or school day! Examples of sports that are played in Recess League are 3-on-3 Basketball, Kickball, Nerf, Ultimate Frisbee, Scooter Dodge-ball, and so many more! There is no previous experience required.

Wednesday Walks at the Arboretum

Nature is known to be unpredictable and unexpected, so what awaits us today?  Rachel, the Arboretum's Naturalist Intern, leads 1 hour long walks every Wednesday year-round.  Walks start at The Arboretum kiosk at 12:15 p.m.   The hike may be cancelled if there is inclement weather.   Please check the Arboretum's Facebook and Instagram page for a notice if the weekly walk is cancelled due to weather.  For further information contact Sally at scheun06@uoguelph.ca or ext. 52363. 

Having Difficult Conversations for Leaders

The ability to have difficult conversations is an essential skill that enables us to clear the air so that we can be productive at work. With practice, this skill can be developed. Difficult conversations tend to be associated with a negative outcome or a confrontation; but there are ways to have a difficult conversation that has a productive outcome. Productive doesn’t mean agreement; it means a change for the collective good.

Free Classical Yoga Class Every Tuesday

Classical Yoga is a particularly effective and efficient system to not only stretch, tone and develop the muscles but stimulate robust health in all systems of the body.  Regular practice can relieve stress and anxiety and promote mental concentration.

Graduate Student Mental Health Conference 2020

The Graduate Student Mental Health Conference is a FREE, one-day event for all graduate students at the University of Guelph.  The day will comprise lectures and break-out workshops focused on the unique needs of graduate students, and will highlight the mental health resources available on campus and in the community of Guelph. Better Sleep Program

This 5 session group program meets once a week to provide information and skills instruction in the cognitive / behavioural techniques which decrease insomnia and promote better, more restful, sleep. For greatest success, daily home practice is very strongly recommended.   YOU WILL LEARN :

Board Games Meetup

Drop by Alexander Hall, room 168 for noon hour board games with colleagues from around campus.  Feel free to bring along a game you enjoy playing, or pick one of the games provided. Bring your lunch and any friends who enjoy a little friendly competition!  Come join us for some laughs on Friday afternoon!  Let us know if you're planning on attending.
