U of G on Tour: Guelph Turfgrass Institute

Join U of G on Tour for an exclusive tour of the Guelph Turf Grass Institute, G.M. Frost Centre and research grounds. Meet up is at 12:00 pm and the Outdoor Tour will be from 12:30-1:00 pm. Feel free to bring a snack or brown bag lunch as you learn about the research that applies to your backyard, local soccer field, golf course, cemetery, and park! The Guelph Turfgrass Institute has moved to a new location, so we invite you to tour the facility and take a walk outside on the research plots. Please dress for the weather. No high heels. Closed-toed shoes required.

To join the Learn-to-Run 5K program, you must attend this information and registration session hosted by Occupational Health and Wellness as you will learn the necessary information about the program. This workshop is hosted by U of G Women, Work, and Wellness. Emmanuelle Arnaud will recap the presentation from January to continue the conversation on how to support your career goals and shift the conversation at the U of G to level the playing field. Session: Noon - 1:00 pm. The room will be available from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm to allow for socializing.

Attendees of this tour will receive a free day pass for recreation in the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre, including access to the Fitness Centre and / or a fitness class, to use at their convenience!

Vocal Health First Aid: How to Protect your Vocal Cords

Did you know a high-voice user speaks at least 4 hours a day? In our job, at home, and while we speak throughout our day, it is easy to be a medium (2-4 hours) or high (4-6 hours) voice user. Especially if we are in a job role that requires teaching, facilitating, and frequent speaking in meetings throughout the day. Yet we do not think about the health of our vocal cords. Even something such as wearing a mask or having reduced lung capacity can impact our voice.  In this session about vocal hygiene we will learn about:

Although the transition from peri-menopause to menopause is a normal part of every woman’s life, many of the changes can be very disruptive.
