CANCELLED- ON TOUR: Gryphon Soccer Complex

The Gryphon Soccer Complex has some interesting sustainability facts that were incorporated during the construction of this complex. This complex has five (5) playing areas.  Come and learn about the sustainability efforts during construction, and interesting information about synthetic turf versus natural grass fields. Being respectful of our agricultural and turf grass history we will explain the need and decisions behind the synthetic turf direction and our desire to meet the environmental impacts of the area and student expectations.

Faculty and Staff Bike Ride with Campus Community Police

Bring your bike and helmet to work and enjoy a guided bike ride through the Arboretum with your colleagues.  Campus Community Police have organized the ride and will guide the group along the path.  At the end of the 30-40 minute ride, snacks will be available for the riders.  Meet at noon in Branion Plaza and let us know if you’re able to join us.

U of G Women, Work and Wellness Session

Be Kind… to Yourself! The first session of the year will focus on self-compassion, it’s benefits, and how to practice it in your daily life. Together we will also begin to build a collective resource bank of books, movies, podcasts, etc. that we can all draw from and contribute to. Relaxation & Stress Management Skills

This group program meets twice a week for 6 weeks (12 sessions in total) to maximize the opportunity to practice and develop strong skills in releasing body tension, and calming and focusing the mind. This educational program emphasizes skill acquisition and education about stress management and high performance. This is not a self-disclosure or therapy group; the purpose is skills practice.

Campus Mile: Healthy Workplace Month Launch Event

Staff, faculty and students are invited to celebrate the launch of Healthy Workplace Month with the second annual U of G Campus Mile! Join us at The Portico on Johnston Green at noon, Oct. 1. Participants will walk, run or roll a mile through a marked route on our beautiful campus. If you're a runner, you may want to try the Campus Mile twice! Wellness@Works Gryphons Read Book Club Meeting

Wellness@Work has formed a staff and faculty book club building off of the existing Gryphons Read student club.  The first book as part of this new book club for faculty and staff is called, "Son of a Trickster."  The book is written by Haisla and Heiltsuk First Nations novelist Eden Robinson.  You can pick up a copy of the book from the McLaughlin Library, Guelph Public Library or the Campus Bookstore. 

Labyrinth Drop-In

The labyrinth is available for anyone to drop-by and walk through.
