Take Our Kids to Work Program

Every year the Upper Grand District School Board, the Wellington Catholic District School Board along with other Ontario school boards co-ordinate a Take Our Kids to Work program whereby Grade 9 students accompany their parent to work and observe them in their daily role as an employee. The University supports this initiative and wishes to ensure that the experience for these students, who may shadow parents at University workplaces on Wednesday, November 14th, is both a safe and a productive one. 

Mood Routes Walk

Join us for a new mental health and physical activity program called Mood Routes. This new program (also known as Mood Walks) is initiated by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and the Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health. These walking groups aim to support the mental and physical health of our campus community members by providing them with an opportunity to take a step back from their responsibilities and stresses, engage with their community, and enjoy the healing effects of nature.

Harnessing Team Power - Part 2

In this experiential course, leaders will learn how to engage their teams in collaborative, creative problem solving and decision making. This course is for individuals in a management position and consists of two half-day workshops. Part 2– Getting the Team Engaged and on Track

Managing Time and Energy

Time is a precious resource. The phrase “time=money” is certainly true in a business setting. Individuals require balance in their work lives so that they can meet both their job requirements and personal needs. Is it possible to manage time at work to be both satisfied and successful? This session will explore answers to this question.

Decreasing Headaches

After looking at numerous research studies, the U.S. Headache Consortium (which includes 7 medical societies) has given relaxation therapy, cognitive stress management approaches, and specific biofeedback treatments a Grade A efficacy rating in treating migraine headaches! This 4 session group program meets once a week, providing an introduction to current information on the proven, drug-free strategies most helpful in decreasing, better understanding, and managing stress-related tension headaches and migraine headaches.

Interactive Workshop: Women and Leadership

Join Dr. M. Gloria González-Morales and PhD candidate Grace Ewles to explore the links between gender, emotional labour, imposter syndrome, stress and burnout and ways to effectively translate women’s emotional labour into executive leadership practice. Space is limited. Please register.
