Wellness Friday- Workplace Inspections

Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act gives the responsibility to a worker member of the Joint Health and Safety committee or Health and Safety Representative to conduct inspections of the physical conditions of the workplace. Successful workplace inspections follow recognized steps and knowing what to look for and why is critical when conducting workplace inspections. Participants will have an introduction into hazard identification and gain an understanding of how workplace inspections are conducted at University of Guelph workplaces.

Having Difficult Conversations for Staff

he ability to have difficult conversations is an essential skill that enables us to clear the air so that we can be productive at work. With practice, this skill can be developed. Difficult conversations tend to be associated with a negative outcome or a confrontation; but there are ways to have a difficult conversation that has a productive outcome. Productive doesn’t mean agreement; it means a change for the collective good.

Tour U of G's Produce Facility & Bake Shop

Join a U of G sous chef and a baker at Creelman Hall for an exclusive tour of the food processing room and the bakeshop. Did you know U of G creates their own smoked roma tomato jam, zucchini relish, apple butter, pickles and more?!  The produce facility provides a hub for chefs to process fresh fruits and vegetables during harvest season to be used in the winter.  The bake shop allows our campus community to enjoy fresh hand-made baked goods with locally grown ingredients, Ontario dairy and fairtrade baking products.
