Fluid Intelligence: The Science and Biomedical Research on Yoga
On Thursday, March 31 @ 12:00pm (EDT), highly respected researcher, life-long yoga practitioner and sought-after speaker, Dr. Sat Bir Singh Khalsa will be speaking about “The Science and Biomedical Research on Yoga: Enhancing Mindfulness, Awareness and Global Consciousness”.
Weekly Mindfulness Drop-In
Each session will open with taking some time to connect and presence ourselves in the virtual space: unmuting ourselves, saying hello, telling a story, saying something about how things are going. Next, we will do some breathwork, then a short gratitude practice, and then a short practice of acknowledging (silently) our hopes, our longings, what we are wanting more of in/from life, maybe even asking for it.
Following this we will do one of three practices:
1. Coming to our senses
2. Cultivating Equanimity
3. Guided Imagery (active imagination)
Movies for Mental Health (Online)
Movies for Mental Health (Online) is a 2-hour virtual workshop that uses the power of film to unite folks in community, connection, and conversation.
This interactive, online experience will feature an anonymous, chat-based discussion on mental health, the stigma that frequently surrounds mental illness, and media portrayals of mental health issues.
Following this will be a live screening of three award-winning short films, therapeutic activities to consciously connect minds and bodies, and a collective exploration around what the work means for us as individuals.
