SafeTalk Training

SafeTALK is an alertness training that prepares anyone, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. The SafeTALK trainer will demonstrate the importance of suicide alertness and help participants identify ways people invite help when they’re at risk. Program focus:

Balanced Body Fitness Class (Free)

Join your colleagues in a fusion class of Pilates, yoga and foam rolling that will improve core strength, posture and create a balanced body.   When you show-up at Athletics, front-desk staff will direct you to change rooms and the location of the class.   To attend this class, you must be a staff or faculty member of the University of Guelph.  You do not have to be a member of the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre. Mindful Eating Jump Start

Beautiful Spaces on the Guelph Campus - A Walking Tour with Steve Nyman

Come learn about beautiful and unique spaces on campus that you may never have seen before on this 30 minute walking tour. Find the snack stops along the walk! The tour departs at 1:10 sharp. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.

Pilates for All Fitness Levels (Free)

The Pilates method focuses on core strengthening, breath, and alignment.  This well-known exercise technique helps participants gain awareness of body alignment while strengthening key core and pelvis muscles to support posture and heatlhy spinal movement. Exercises will be modified for any known injuries. Please note that the class will begin at 12:10 p.m. and end at 12:50 p.m. When you show-up at Athletics, front-desk staff will direct you to change rooms and the location of the class.

THINK PINK Football Game

Come cheer on the Gryphons.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.  Breast cancer survivors will be honoured during the coin toss. The first 1000 fans will receive a pink Gryphon scarf and a pink thunderstick. Admission is $20 for adults and $5 for non U of G students.

Introduction to Health and Safety Training Session

Members of Joint Health and Safety Committees or Health and Safety Representatives will learn about their roles and power under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Discussion will provide insights into the structure of JHSCs at the University of Guelph and locations of H&S Reps at U of G research stations. All interested staff are welcome to attend, especially those currently involved as members of Joint Health and Safety Learn more now!
