Reporting to the Manager, Graduate Studies (LANG Dean’s Office), the Graduate Program Specialist (GPS) provides support and offers expertise for all aspects of graduate programs within the Lang School of Business and Economics. 

The Graduate Program Specialist is responsible for supporting in the project management of graduate programming at Lang including operational activities including the ongoing updating and reporting of applicant and student status, the tracking and proactive identification of key deadlines and activities for critical operational activities. This includes event management relating to on campus experiences, and special events such as the annual Lang Business Leaders Conference.  

Requirements for the position include: Two (2) year Community College graduation in a related field (Undergraduate degree in a business-related field preferred) and a minimum of one (1) year previous experience in a client service environment with multiple stakeholders. Experience within an academic environment (graduate studies) would also be a strong asset, namely for knowledge of standard operating procedures within an academic context, and knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to student recruitment and admissions.

The ability to make decisions using integrity and sound judgement is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional: interpersonal skills; communication skills (both oral and written); systems-focused approach; time management and prioritization skills; and have a history of demonstrating initiative, and in making sound judgements in ad hoc/ambiguous situations.

The successful candidate will also have advanced skill in using Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams) and Salesforce. Preference given to candidates who have experience with student databases (Colleague) and Document Imaging Systems (ImageNow/WebNow). An understanding of academic programs, university policies and procedures, and administrative systems are considered an asset.
