Join Our Team as a Hospitality Services Coordinator! Are you a seasoned hospitality professional with a passion for excellence? The University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, is seeking a dedicated Hospitality Services Coordinator. This role ensures high-quality hospitality services and a top-notch experience for campus and external clients. Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Oversee Campus Center Operations: Manage the daily operations of the on-campus pub, host events, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Event Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute events, coordinating with internal departments and external vendors to handle all details efficiently.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise kitchen staff, manage scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to ensure smooth operations.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Catering Management: Oversee external catering services, ensuring high-quality food and beverage offerings for events.
  • Inventory and Waste Management: Manage inventory, order supplies, and reduce waste to maintain efficient operations.

Position Requirements:

  • Three-year Community College diploma in Hospitality Management.
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience in a university, restaurant, hotel, or large-scale catering service.
  • Red Seal Chef Certification (Preferred)
  • Proven supervisory experience and strong leadership skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and specialized cooking equipment.
  • WHMIS, Food Handlers Certificate, SMART Serve, First Aid, and a valid driver’s license.
  • Advanced computer skills for inventory and ordering systems.
